Last week I was invited to attend a reception for the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (NEF) at Number 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister. This was a huge honour for FreshMinds and even more so for the New Entrepreneurs Foundation (NEF).
In my last blog entry, I wrote about the importance of joining LinkedIn, and its usefulness in networking. I am not a paid advocate of LinkedIn (somewhat unfortunately, it might be a nice sideline), but I am a big proponent of networking and in my opinion, there is no better way to network than having a coffee, one-on-one.
On Monday night two FreshMinds colleagues and I attended the Stylist Network Event 'How To Grow Your First Million' in central London. The event was showcasing entrepreneurs who had started their own businesses in the horticultural space; Romy Fraser, founder of Neal's Yard Remedies, Nikki Tibbles, founder of Wild at Heart, Isabelle Palmer, founder of the Balcony Gardener and Kate Gould, founder of Kate Gould Gardens. They each had different stories of entrepreneurship, how the businesses evolved and what the challenges were along the way, but all were driven by their unwavering dedication to their ideas. What an inspirational testimony to the power of passion and belief!

Last night we held an event for investment banking interns in London, our amazing attendees had the chance to hear about the experiences of former banking interns and to network with each other and the FreshMinds team. We had attendees currently on intern programmes with RBS, Goldman Sachs, Citi, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse all sharing their experiences and getting the inside scoop from our guests.
