FreshMinds has always attracted candidates with an entrepreneurial bent and recently I’ve had a flurry of emails from candidates letting me know about their new businesses. It’s something I always love hearing about, so thought I’d share a few of them with you. Three to be precise.
Have you heard the phrase, ‘men are like buses – none for ages and then three come along at once’? Of course you have. But I bet you didn’t know that interim language placements are also like buses.
“Bonjour ! Parlez-vous une langue? Pouvez-vous la parler vrai bon? Nous trouvons souvent les esprits don’ de cette langue ne vous rendez pas compte qu’ils la langue re s’occupe, mais la maîtrise d’une langue peut signifier des qualifications pour un travail. En semaine dernière, j’avais regardé les rôles qui demandent les haut-parleurs français, allemands, espagnols, portugais, danois, norvégiens et suédois. Et un collègue du mien avait recherché les haut-parleurs chinois et russes.”
Since joining FreshMinds I have met a lot of applicants. They vary in appearance, attitude and quality, which is to be expected. What you wouldn’t believe is the variety that people also manage to put into their CVs.
A question for you: If you were an animal, what kind of animal would you choose to be? Don’t answer too quickly and think about the ramifications of your furry alter-ego because, if certain unnamed guides to interview technique are to be believed, your choice might well lose or win you the job of your dreams.
