Research Associate

Our client is a pan-European advisory and search firm that focuses exclusively on the needs of the private equity industry. Operating from offices in London, Paris and Munich, our client connects private equity firms and European business leaders. Working to identify, evaluate and recruit management teams for private equity-backed companies; they use sector knowledge and insight to help clients appraise potential business acquisitions.

We are looking for a research associate to join their TMT team.  The TMT team was the most successful practice within the business last year; it is a young, dynamic and growing team.  Your day-to-day responsibilities will be geared towards helping private equity funds evaluate target companies and find suitable alternative leadership teams who can be appointed to grow or turnaround a company. This will involve researching market sectors in support of deal origination, transaction due diligence and recruitment assignments, as well as helping to identify potential companies for private equity acquisition. You will be preparing analytical reports to brief the private equity funds on progress and attending meetings with Partners/Senior consultants and liaising with Chairman and Chief Executives on a daily basis. The role therefore grants fantastic exposure and training is rotational across a broad range of projects, helping you to develop commercial expertise in many different industry sectors.

The successful candidate will have at least 320 UCAS points and at least a 2:1 or above from a top tier university. You will have outstanding interpersonal and research skills as well as drive and analytical rigour. Some commercial experience is required, ideally within management consultancy, law, accounting or investment banking.  Or if you are a fresh graduate some good commercial internships would also suffice.  You will be looking to work with a dynamic and fast paced firm who offer unrivalled career progression opportunities and will give you a chance to take on a large amount of responsibility from the outset.
